System and product development are quintessential goals of engineering. This course examines modern approaches to product and system development for life cycle value. Students learn about value stream analysis, integrated product and process development, and hardware/software integrations, lean enterprise and best practices, as well as how to use function deployment, design structure matrices, and decision mechanisms. Several lectures will feature industry guest presentation.
